Racing Beat Exhaust System

I put the racing beat exhaust system on my 87 turbo II and boy is it fast now. But I they post a 59 hp increase above stock and boost goes up to about 10 psi. Does anyone know if this is a 59 wheel horsepower increase or flywheel increase?

And on a side note, I was going to get an open air filter element in place of the stock air box. From what's posted here that sounds like it might be a bad idea because it will overheat the intercooler. But I couldn't tell if you were talking about 2nd gen or 3rd gens. So which is it? and I guess it is better to fabricate a cold air induction, but is it necessary, will the intercooler get that bogged down?

Thanks

It's 59 HP at the flywheel. I think they say it gives a 32% increase.

I've used the HKS open air filter on a few cars with the stock IC, and I always had great results. A FMIC makes a big increase in HP, but the stock IC will work well up to about 10-12 PSI.

If you want to make a cold air system you can just buy a K&N filter and fabricate everything. The HKS kit is expensive for what you get. If you have an 87-88 TII an alternative would be to buy the air flow meter adapter from K2RD for $20 and throw a K&N filter on it. If anyone has an 89-91 TII then they don't need the adapter.
