Within a certain range of operating parameters yes. You cannot take a required AFR of 11:1 and split that 50/50, but for any additional chamber cooling/knock prevention above a best power mix you can use water or water/alcohol mix instead of fuel. Actually the low latent heat of gasoline makes it a fairly poor coolant.

I'm overstating the obvious.

Distilled water is water condensed from water vapor. The gaseous state of the water and dewpoint are the filter. Some evaporated contaminants recombine/dissolve with the water during condensation. Distilled water for sale at the grocery store is slightly contaminated. As with other filtrations, the original water and the quality of process effect the product. Distillation is good for eliminating mineral.

The reverse osmosis also contains error. Reverse osmosis membranes allow the affinity of water-to-water to pull chains of itself through very tight pores that are barriers to larger and less cohesive substances. Reverse osmosis suffers similar errors as distillation, where small chemicals flow through the osmosis and contaminate the product. Osmosis is good for eliminating large hydrocarbon.

Sounds interesting. How does the water taste? Have you washed your car with this RO/DI water yet?
