Puffing seals?

now I know if you use vasoline instead of hylomar that your coolant seals will swell up. Well will the Viton Oil seals do that as well?

who told you vaseline makes coolant seals swell? the FSM says to use it!

they do if u let the coolant seals sit in it.i found out the hard way.put the vasoline in the coolant ring grooves and put the rings in their place,but didnt have enough time to finish up.came back to finish the next day and the rings were all stretched out n ****

vaseline will swell the seals if you let them sit unassembled for too long. Then during assembly they get 'clipped' and eventually start to lose sealing capacity...as k me how I know
