premix degrading fuel, how bad??

does anybody know how bad 2 stroke oil degrades the fuel??? 4oz in 20.1 gal tank??? I very curius becuase I want to run around 18 psi on pump gas, but im worried about the octane being degraded becuase of the 2 stroke oil. Does anybody know how many point it may drop??

4oz in 20 gal? Not even 1 point on the octane rating.

dude,12 ozs is way to much for 16 gal tank. Chris at rotary performance only recomended 4 oz per full tank, (20.1 gal). thanks..

i was suggested to run one oz. for every gallon of fuel. thus 14 oz for a 14 gallon tank... (this is for a first gen though.. could it be different)....

1oz per gallon if using premix exclusively. If you are using it with the omp, 1/3 oz. per gallon is more than adequate and will not cause excessive smoking.
Even with 1oz. per gallon, the octane rating is hardly affected.

if I recall correctly, 100:1 ratio results in a .2 octane drop (or maybe it's for 200:1). Crap..... Don't remember clearly now.

I run straight premix, I dont even have a omp. I've been running 8oz for a full tank of gas.

Is this enough??? Should I be running more?

100:1 is 23oz for a full 18 gallon tank of gas!!!!! That seems like way too much.

Lets look at it like this. When I was on straight omp alone I would loose about a qt of oil in 1500 miles. Assuming all that was being lost due to the omp that means that I used one qt (32oz) of oil for about 100 gallons of gas, which would break down to the omp injecting about 5oz per tank of gas.

So if the omp was doing about 5 oz of 20/50 engine oil how does that compare lubercation wise to me doing 8oz of synthetic premix or MMO???

Surely somone knows for sure!!!!

Hmm, I talked to Mazdatrix and they told me 1-2oz per gallon. So I went with 1.5oz with no omp and my car never smoked. Just some input. My engine didn't last long enough to pull the plugs and check. It seemed ok to me though.

Stock omp ratio at full throttle is 150:1 if I remember correctly. So 1/2oz./gallon is not adequate if you constantly flogged the bitch and redline it. 1oz./gallon is what I would suggest.
