pre-lubing a engine before its first start
I have a low milage JDM 13bt engine in my FB.
im getting close to being able to start it.
this engien has been sitting for awhile whithout being run.
I have turned the engine by hand but I want to make sure it has good oil pressure before I start it.
Should I just crank it until I get some oil pressure or should I pump it into the engine via the oil pressure port.
let me know, I want this engine to last.

One thing you can do is spin the oil filter off and pour oil down the center of the pedestal till it gets to the top. Then spin the engine over a few times by hand and repeat. this will insure that while you are cranking it over for the first time it will atleast have oil on the bearings. I don't know what kind of EMS you are running but when I was getting ready to start my engine for the first time (j-spec also) I turned off the injectors (can do this with a E6K) while I cranked untill I got pressure. I probably cranked 15-20 seconds before I got 30psi.
