POWERTONE Exhaust System

This is the best sounding one that I have heard and a few others.

It sounds like a deep rumbling that you get from a powerboat exhaust in the water.

Hard to describe.

It is also lightweight and the entire tip is the muffler.

And here is the optional muffler for the MP area.

Notice that it looks like a Catalytic Convertor.......

Stevil & BigRed and Coconuts are /will be using these systems if you like to get in contact with them.

It's a muffler made to look like a cat.

They outflow Borla, Flowmaster, Dynomax,Thrush, Abarth, B&B, Ansa, Bursch, Monza, Hooker, Eldelbrock, Lightspeed, Momo, Brospeed, Macor, HKS, Greddy, D C Sports, Flowtech, RS*R, SuperTrapp, Pace Setter, HondaSport, Exhaust Tech, Hedman, Cone, Tanabe, Remus, Autotech, Sebring, Gibson,Bassani.

As u can see there are 3 straight through 1 inch pipes .

Here is a diagrma of how it works:

Notice in the pic that there isn't any huge muffler canister:

both have glass packing.

The tips have a flow through design so it cools the glass pack so that it won't melt.

Yea, a guy near me put one of those cat looking mufflers in his midpipe & the inerds broke apart in very little time. The case is very thin walled SS, & split at the welds. It would resonate & rattle with every little bit of the gas pedal.

IT'S CRAP! Don't waste your money on it! But I'm sure he'll be along to give his opinions soon enough...

i have the tips on right now and love it.

The quality is good IMHO and experience as with 2 others.

I'll install the cat looking muffler on soon and let's see if it splits.

Maybe ur guy got a defective one.......... and/or they have corrected the problem and did a better welding job.

If it's fiberglass packed, you better plan on replacing them once a month. Fiberglass won't hold up to a rotary's hot exhaust temps. Of course, it may not sound that much different after the packing melts, just a little louder.

i checked and there is still fiberglass in both of our exhaust.

the design allows for it to be bathed in constant cool air....

As of today, the fiberglass is still there........ and I have enough HP to run even with a Z06 per yesterday's race..... and HP to kill S4 , qvale and Latest M3........ I think that is enough heat........
