powder coating and thermal treatments on engine

Has anybody powder coated their engine block or treated their engine internals/housings with thermal protectants like techline coatings?

Ceramic coating involves too much transit time and costs. There is powder coating service local to me and has good turn around times.

I'm a little concerned about the housings under the heat (400C) for 30 minutes. However, they have already done Corvette engines and I believe those blocks are also aluminum.

I know that powder coating is just another form of painting and doesn't warrant any benefit for thermal insulation. I just thought I would give it a try this rebuild.

Any thoughts or experiences?

they bake it at about 400F not C. your engine sees way high temps than that while operating. you arent really talking about powdercoating the internals are you? the outside of the housings is the only place that could possibly be powdercoated.

400F is not that high. For some reason, I thought I heard the shop say Celsius.

No, I'm just going to powder coat the outside.

However, there are some products like techline that can be used to coat the internals.
I'm a little hesitant to try it.

yeah i havent heard of anyone using the ceramic or thermal barrier coatings on a rotary. it would be real interesting to get the rotor faces coated with a thermal barrier and the sides of the rotors with poly moly or something similar. i cant really see how it would hurt.

as for powder coating you should be find just make sure their coating can stand up to the operating heat.
