yep I did and my new Goodyears feel pretty good. But the struts are jacked and I'm replacing them tomorrow after I clean the garage. I can't wait to get back to work Monday so I can get some rest (and see some hot @$$ coworkers )

Have you ever helped or worked around any cars being prepped for painting?

Oh man you don't know the half of that. My wife got into some **** with a neighbor of mines daughter that would always come over when she was home from college. She called me "MacGyver" because her Dad teases me about that. That was back when that show was still in production.
She brought two girls she had gone to high school with over one time and one was a little freak. A tough *** lookin' freak. They were a little drunk on top of that.
I can talk **** with the best of them and that one girl could talk some serious **** and had a badass bod which put me at my worst behaviour as well.
What we didn't know was that Ms. Scalli was listening to every word.
I had built a copper pot rack for neighbor girls mom they had seen and the one girl pops off something about me having worked on the mom's rack in a really naughty way and I said something about if she needed her rack worked on I could do that too.... that was when Ms. Scalli came out yelling "which one of you little bitches wants their *** kicked first?!?!?!"...... all I could say was "NOT ME!!!"
Ms. Scalli still does not think that was funny I know one thing, every time I think of neighbors coming over that is the one episode that sticks out.
The same neighbors daughter hosed her shirt down for me when she was washing her car once. I thought I would die. Good thing Ms. Scalli didn't see that or I would have. Or the time I told her I could make a directional parachute from her bra for their chihuahua, or the time....

Well that is good that you have been around a body shop then. Usually the biggest surprise to people is when they *think* they have the body prepped and they shoot there first coat and see all the sanding marks and realize they have a long way to go from there.

As far as final polishing get yourself a 6" bench grinder and some cotton wheels and some polishing wheels for the Dremel. I hope you have a variable speed Dremel because 30,000 rpm will not be a good thing when it comes to using these items.
This pic shows some useful if not absolutely neccesary things you need for polishing. Always remember when it comes to polishing compounds that you cannot use the same cotton wheels or pads. When you change compounds use a new applicator.

Here is a great link to a company with everything you need and more and they are great people to work with http://www.caswellplating.com/buffs/alpolkit.htm

Here is a pic of what the items look like

I got it at Harbor Freight.
Ceramic coating is completely different than power and requires expensive equipment that usually falls under a general term called thermal spray.
You can do a Google search for that term and find out more than you will ever want to know on that subject

That is an excellent idea. I could see making some insulated panels and doing that.

So Scali, any user tips on the powdercoat? I'm gonna try the HF system. Already got an oven for it.

Kinda glad I dont have neighbors like yours. I'd get into wayyyy too much trouble.

Just DON'T use rubber gloves or any gloves for that matter while spraying because you will build up a static charge and get the **** shocked out of you. I didn't learn that firsthand fortunately
Get a oven thermometer and test your oven to be sure the dial is acurate. Mine was way off.
Other than that just practice, practice, PRACTICE!!!
