Possible New Owner Question about mods

Hi,
I have a 2001 S2000 as a daily driver and am looking for a track/auto-x car. I have the chance to buy a 93 TT with about 90k miles. The egine only has 30k on it. All boost hoses have been replaced with silicone hoses. A new (r1 transmission with 20k) transmission has just been installed. The stock exhaust system has been replaced with a full 3 inch setup. The cat is still intact, but the pre-cat is gone. My question is do I "need" a new ECU or intercooler? I have been reading some articles saying that if you replace the stock exhaust you should get an intercooler and new ecu. Any thoughts on this would be great, thanks.
Erik
