parking lot launch!!!

i am finally going to make some 1/4 mile passes in two weeks. i have been 1/8 mileing (sp) for the last month jus to make sure it is going to go straight ! that and the local chassis cert guy has been sick and not able to travel until next week so after i get the chassis certified than i will hit the 1/4. my 1/8 mile times and MPH are dead on for some 8.90's and i am only running 24psi! to all of you that say Automatics suck...y'all are wrong i have a convertor sponser now that has configured a convertor for me that give a 2.65:1 torque ratio for about 75' what this means that if you are making 300ft/lbs of torque at the motor the torque convertor will put 795 ft/lbs to the ground for about 75 ft ! and the same convertor has a 6k stall (only 5400 right now since my boost is not up all the way yet). and get this...it is only losing 5% in high gear ( most auto's lose around 20%). one of the strange things about this convertor is that it took 4 passes before it would loosen up and "get on the brake"!!! now when you press the trans brake it immediately goes to 5400rpms and FULL boost!once you release the button it flashes to 5900 and then you HOLD on to your nuts, cuz the wheels come up and your head slams into the seat !!! what this amounts to is that the only disadvantage of the auto matic is the 5% loss in top gear and that is nothing. .especially when it leaves harder for the first 150 feet. this is one of the reasons most of the fast mustangs are going to the Bruno box which takes advantage of the new technology in convertors but utilizes the quick shifting of sequential gear boxes!
there are some new pics on my website and some new video will be added soon

enjoy

1/4 mile passes

i will be making the passes at baytown

as for directions to my shop, i am closing down my business and going back to work full time! i was made a VERY big offer to run a Mfg company and CNC program so mid sept i am doing it. i will still keep my building but only for the race car, this step will allow me to concentrate on just the race car and still afford to race (and then some). if you still want to come by and visit my addy is

i am no longer taking in work as i have four more cars to complete and it is gonna take me a month to get them done.

That's really cool! I'd like my automatic to do that... someday. How much do mods like that cost?

i made an adapter that allows me to use a Chevy TH350 tranny and a chevy starter. the tranny can withstand 1000 h.p. on a rotary because of the low torque output. with a V8 it can only handle 750 h.p. because typically a V8 will make the same torque. cost wise a fully built race tranny with reverse valve body is around 1000.00 and the convertor is another 1000.00 the adapter with starter is another 1000.00. the only thing is that due to the placement of the starter you cannot use any OEM intake manifolds. it is probably possible to move the starter somewhere else but i was not worried aobut it at the time since i made my own manifolds!

Is it on top? I'd probably move the starter to the plug side, like a stock 20B.

right now it is on the top but remember that i am using a chevy F/W and starter. maybe if you used a Mazda f/w it may be able to go on the side but then you would have to figure out the spacing for the F/w and redrill the mazda f/w to use a chevy convertor (pain in the ***). i did not research any of this i just new it would fit on top with no problems. if there is enough interest i MAY sit down on teh ol' cad and figure it out. i think this setup would be awesome for a 20b on the street! especially in a squirrely *** FD!!

Oh yeah, I saw your car on a trailor on my way back from houston you were pulling out on to the interstate from baytown. I was there the whole weeekend and didn't even know that there were import races there. D'oh! That was before you were on the forum, I think you posted the next day (plagued with problems?).

Talking Planning on?

I have had my 87 for quite some time now (6 months?). I'll be at the next autocross, but prolly still on crappy suspension and tires for another month.

87 TII
Greddy manifold
DeltaGate
60-1 HIFI P trim w/ .96 turbine housing
FMIC
3" exhaust
AIC (running 2 850's)
3rd gen FP
misc. goodies

How are you doing adam? I haven't been able to come see you guys for quite sometime. But that will all change soon. Oh yeah I am pulling the t04 off the car and selling it. Going back to a stock hybrid cause the T04 is UN autocrossable. Plus I can't tune the thing for nothing with the AIC, scared of blowing the motor I guess.

So does that mean that the intercooler you sell will stop being made as well? I hope not. I was just getting ready to be in the market for one.

PS will your intercooler work with a cold air box like the M2?
