Oil smoke on fresh rebuild

I started up the rebuild in my car and it still has an oily smoke after 15 mins, is this common? The car fully warmed up. How long do I have to wait? My irons have been lapped and it has a streetport with all new oem seals inside. I'm also running brand new bnr stage 3 twins in non sequential format.

WDF?

It is normal to smoke even during the first drive. All excessive lubricants "internal and external have to burn off. If you have new thermal wrap, expect a few days for that to stop smelling.

If the engine is still smoking after 50 miles, then you have a problem.

my last engine stopped smoking after a few hours, but you could still smell lubricants burning after a week. 50 miles was roughly what it took before things got "normal". just give it some time.

It's totally normal. I almost puked because I let it idle in my shop on the lift... STUPID IDEA! Though I did it so I could look for immediate leaks, so it was kinda smart

Oily smoke out the exhaust or engine bay? Engine bay will take a while if the components that get heated are really oily. Exhaust shouldn't smoke for too long. I've never had an engine smoke out the exhaust for more than a few seconds with cats installed.
