Oil Cooler Fans
I have a stock t2 oil cooler and I'm running a 20B. I'm not sure if it's up to par or not... I've been thinking about running another stock oil cooler in line with this one, but thought I'd do a bit of research before hand.
has anyone had any luck with mounting oil cooling fans? Would a push or pull fan be the best?
When running two oil coolers, I'm worried about loss of oil pressure. At first, i thought that I should branch the feed and return lines and run them in paralell, but after thinking about it, I thought that may introduce a problem of low oil pressure.
Would running them in line (engine block -> inlet of Oil Cooler1 -> outlet of Oil Cooler1 -> inlet of Oil Cooler2 -> outlet of Oil Cooler2 -> engine block) be a better option? Would I have to remove the thermostat from the second oil cooler? Would I have to add an inline oil pump booster or a resevoir for such an upgrade?
any input is greatly appreciated!

If you do decide to run two oil coolers I would for sure run them in paralell, not series. With them in paralell you will actually see less pressure drop then with them in series. Think about it, it's easier to blow through two straws in parallel than in series. I would keep both of the thermostats in place. But before you decide to run two oil coolers I'd just run one at first and see what the oil temp gets to and take it from there.

oil coolers
But both coolers on my R1 are connected in series , this is the original set up , you need to remember that its 100 + psi of oil pressure , I know that the D.P. would increase with pressure but these coolers are large and should allow for good flow/pressure ,it should help if you remove the thermal bypasses.

Right now, I'm thinking that I'll pick up another T2 oil cooler and have them welded together, one on top of the other. I'm going to put some puller fans on the back of them too.... I need to get an oil temp gauge.

I know this thread is 8 years old dead, but I'd LOVE to see a wiring diagram and installation guide on this project.
1) What kind of fan(s) do you use?
2) How do you install them? (or it on a single oil cooler job)
3) How do you wire it? To the radiator fans so they come on at the same time?

um anyways, a friend of mine put fans on the oil cooler years and years ago it did work.
he had an FC with an old HKS front mount, and oil temps were always super high, so he took 3 computer fans (i think 3) and it actually worked.
i'm not sure how he had it hooked up, it might have just been a switch on the dash, but wiring to the radiator fan would probably work too
