The NHRA Sport Compact Nationals is this weekend.Is anyone going?

Siguel Racing,Abel Ibara,Ari yallon and some other rotary guys are supposed to be there.Is anyone on here going?

What day is best to go,saturday for the qualifying or sunday for the actuall race?I dont know if I'm going both days cause I'm broke as a jizzoke!

 

Titan Motorsports Supra just qualified with a 9.002 @ 160 mph in the street class!!!!! That's on Drag radials too! Pretty amazing!
Now for sure Ari's in big trouble!

That Supra is straight crazy. I never in a million years thought the street class would be shaken up as bad as it has this year. On another note there is a Supra here in Kentucky that is going to make a nice impact in the street class at summer slam. Recently ran a 10.47 with some more tuning they could see 9s. No where near Titans numbers but damn good none the less.

 

yeah sounds like the days of put the car on the tailer drive to the track and run 9.6 and winning it every event is over. im glad to see the computision has step up.

I saw that too and have a hard time swallowing that they are doing it without cheating. IE...mixing the gas with alcohol. To run 160mph they'd have to be running about 40-45lbs of boost. Your not doing that with plain old 116 race gas. And runningI those 15 inch wheels with the 315 sidewall is just as good as a slick.

 

that Supra is 2900 lbs and makes around 1000 Rwhp!! i dont think they are cheating it just took the Supras 3 years to figure out what to do. that car either leaves in second gear or has a VERY short gear in it. on one of his by runs he had to double clutch it three times to get it to move! and when he did run the car he did not shift out of his first gear until around 150' or so. most supras are out of first gear before they get past the 60' mark.
i hate Supras like everyone but that car ****** flies

BTW. Nero had the car on the Dyno just before they left to Texas and it made 850RWHP off and 970RWHP on the bottle!
Now I don't know if I was supposed to let that info out!
What's up with your car Marcus? Someone told me it was at Houston raceway last weekend. Is it completed and ready to go!

MArcus told me his starter was jacked up,thats why he couldnt race....

crispeed ,greg...i am coming, i would have run it this past weekend but i had a hell of a time with it all week long and you know how that goes. i am not happy with the fuel system yet . but it is running and has been on the track. i have not yet run it full out but will VERY soon . my battery diconnect switch went sour and burned up the starter on friday while at the dyno. i have already made enough power to run mid 8's but have not use the power past the 1/8 mile yet. and now everyone seems to be running in the 8.20's i gotta step it up a notch. i dont know how far both of you are from runnning but the class is getting real quick real fast!!
the car weighed in at 2130 with me in it so i need to lose 180 lbs. i will not run an event until EVERYTHING is perfect!!

 

The car that worries me is the Las cano built 89 300zx (White Car) When I was in Etown That friggen car went 10.0 . Now you are probably thinking big ******* whoop. But It went 10.0@172 MPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

DAMN!!!!! 172MPH? Like i said i/we are gonna have to come with it and in a big way!! the class will be in the 7's by the end of the summer no doubt.

 

If I'm thinkign of the same car, that is something to fear.

I saw it at Lakeland FL about 1 or 2 yrs back. Its only 1/8 mile. buit it was fun watching.

dont fall asleep with the gns crew, they will be at maple grove this weekend with a lighter more aerodynamic car ready to run 7.9s. lets hope he gets there.

I hope Oky(Carlos Gonzales GNS Racing) be the first in the 7's in the modified class!
His new car(RX-7) is much lighter with a longer wheel base and certainly more aerodynamic than his Rx-3.
He set the NHRA Modified record with an 8.10@167mph at 2313lbs!

According to George(Las Cano) the car is making close to 800RWHP! The car bogged on the run so there's alot more to come!
