Newbie To The RX7 World..Question about building motor..
Like it says i am new to the RX7 i have been doing to honda think for 4 or 5 years but have traded my honda for a 87&88 RX7 one runs one dont. I also got a complete Turbo2 swap in the trade to. The 88 runs so i am going to drive it and do the swap into the 87 both are N/A cars. What i want to know is what all to i need to do with the turbo motor to but down 350 to 400 and still be able to drive it around half the time. I know i need to have the motor ported what port job should i have done. What size turbo do i need to use I always use a T3/T4 turbo no my honda but dont know if that would work on a RX. I know i have read i need to use a stand alone ECU what a good ECU that now to high in price. If some one could give a list of where i need to start and what all i need to get and do to the motor would be a big help. Thanks for any help..

Much easier to swap in a V-8 unless you're just stuck on owning a rotary. I'm the disgruntled ex FD owner that isn't super fond of the rotary, but Lupe, ErnieT, etc have all made over 600rwhp which is impressive.
Go to Gothamracing.com or PFSsupercars.com if I owned a rotary I would only let Steve Kan or Ray Wilson touch my car.
Standard street port is fine nothing special and a 60-1 would meat you're goals just fine. Good luck and don't pop any seals.

I dont want to do a V-8 because i have a V-8 S-10 that run's 6.08 in the 8th mile so i think i would stay with doing a rotary. Is the greddy e-manage be ok to run or do i need to run a standalone?

Yea when i get it all together i was going to trailer it to Steve Kan and let him tune it for me. Where is a good place to pick up the rear end? Would this turbo be good for my goal of around 400whp and will it make any more than that? here is a link. turbo .He said he would give me this turbo with a .96A/R Turbine houseing. Would it work fine or do i need to try to find a 1.15A/R houseing. Would the .96 give out to early or is that fine?

Check teh classified 2gen forum for rear end stuff. Teh TII 87-88 lsd is teh king of drifting and TII 89-91 is cheapie vlsd that sucks for drifting but you never gotta replace ne diff clutches.
