Needle Bearings For Rotors?
Has anybody tried this? Seems like it would be much more efficient than babbit bearings but I don't know about longevity. I would think a complete engine on bearings would be able to turn somewhere in the 13,000 rpm range safely, and if the bearings would hold up, would last @ that rpm much longer.

search, been covered in good detail.
I believe Guru, or maybe Scoot sells needle beering supported rotary parts. Good for a race or two, not good for long hall. Theres reasons most modern engines have (even full race) use babbit, or bushing oil supported type bearings, and its not just because needle bearings would cost more or are horribly noisey.

I dont think the neddle bearing would hold thr rotor in alignment could touch the side plates, neddles need to be loose fitting, also a lot of movment would cause the apex to wobble in its groove unseating it from the housing wall.
