Need info. I'm arguing with Camaro guys

Hi guys, I need to know how much hp and torque your average run of the mill 13b makes. A dyno sheet would be nice. ALso, how much a 3 rotor makes. How much each of these make under boost, How much you can get out on drag race only applications, and finally, how much these engines weigh, max rpm. Thanks, I'm trying to straighten out those pushrod heads, I hope you can help me.

You're from London too eh? Check out the Canadian forum if you haven't already.

In terms of maximum power, the old IMSA race n/a 12A could put out something in the range of ~330hp. You can sort of interpolate for a n/a 13b. Keep in mind that's road racing, but it'll give you an idea.

HP for stock FCs (scroll down a bit):
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=181219
Stock 13B in the FB was 135hp.
Stock S6 3rd gen 13B-REW was 255hp, 217ftlbs.

The highest 'pure drag' 13B I've heard of was ~1200hp. I know dyson rotary in austraila actively runs a 1000hp FC.

Just do some browsing in the Rotary Performance and Single Turbo forums and you'll get a pretty quick and good idea of what power most people are expecting, or resulting, from most single turbo conversions.

Max RPM is generally 8000 for most stock 13B's (a few are a bit less). It's not uncomman for modified street ones up to 9k, a few up around 10k, but not many.

There are many variations on even stock 13Bs, but as a typical example, the 1986-88 FC 13B turbo engine puts out 182bhp and 183lb/ft in stock form, and weighs about 230lbs in longblock form (with turbo and manifolds but no trans/clutch or accessories).
The 20B puts out close to 300bhp and 295lb/ft in stock form and weighs nearly 500lbs. About 75lbs of that is in the turbos and exhaust manifold.
David Morris has a list of specs of the JC Cosmo 13B and 20B on his site: http://www.dmrh.com.au/jcspecs2.htm

Just get a real fast FD and kick the hell out them. Make a bet with the Camaro guys that you get to cut off their mullets when they lose

Don't need an FD to show people what rotary engines are capable of producing. Just ask AJC13b....

Rotary engines are an incredible design, 1.1/1.3L engines producing 1000HP. Only engines in the world that have that power to CC ratio is sportbike and F1. There is NO VALVETRAIN, and they are incredibly light, my friend and I picked up a full longblock 12a by ourselves.

I have nothing against V8 power and muscle car guys...It's just the comments and slandering towards rotary engines that get under my skin. Its just not AMERICAN!!!>.....like NASCAR and Budweiser V8 power is a marking stone of American tradition and when something foreign and of totally different design that they don't understand comes along.........its crap! A V8 wishs it could rev as quick, as high, and as long as my rotary.........and my rotary could use some more of that V8 torgue....oh well, guess I'll have to settle for a ceramic ball-bearing 60-1

I managed to pick up my 12a longblock (without tranny, but with clutch) by myself for a couple of feet. I had a nice big bruise on my shoulder for the next few weeks in the shape of the bit of rope I used to lift it

Methinks I should've got some mates to help me!!!

But I have to admit, it's nice to drive a car that rumbles side-to-side from the sheer burbly idle that a modified V8 can give
