My plan...... approve?

Im gonna have to do my 7 on a budget If I get an FD, and one of the most important things for me is gonna be reliability, since I wont be able to afford to replace te engine, no way no how. Then its a tie between performance and looks. Hey, Im in highschool, I have to have my car look tight

anyways, heres my plan, so far:

Get the car
------------------------
Wheels (wider really is better, good slogan, Pontiac, first thing you ever did right)
Sticky Tires
------------------------
Direct port nitrous
Fuel System (real big, reeeaaaaalllll big)
------------------------
Downpipe and exhaust, as big as I can get.
------------------------
Vented Hood
New Front
Sideskirts(???)
------------------------
Haltech TEC3 (if tuners learn it by then)

Somewhere between "Get the car" and "Looking tight", do the basic FD reliability mods (vacuum/boost lines, etc.) and completely upgrade the cooling system. Your car will not look very cool sitting in the driveway with a blown motor due to overheating.
Other FD-specific questions will have to be answered by FD owners... I'm an FC and RX-2 guy....

If you are on a budget, then I would assume that you are going to be getting a car with moderate to high mileage on the engine. Adding nitrous to a high mileage engine is not a good idea, especially if you want it to last.

Wheels and tires are good (looks and performance).

DP is good (I consider it a reliability mod, because you are replacing the precat POS). CB is good. I would probably go with a high flow cat too.

Vented hood is good (help get the heat out and looks good).

Boost controller (keep it under control).

Reliability mods (vac lines, fuel filter, radiator, AST, change all fluids, etc.).

My opinion only, but I would stay clear of nitrous unless you rebuild the engine and know exactly what you have.

I will bet you blow your engine and it sits.

I have a neighbors son sounded just like you. blew the engine not doing the proper maintenace and racing it regularly.

I really hate to be a old fart sounding like this but I have seen this happen too often with "kids" today. They get a cool car, regardless the brand, and they tear it up and are pissed it broke. And it rots where it died. I can point out several Mustangs, LS1's, even a Viper and a 911 (same kid (Dad works for John Carmack)) that have befallen this fate.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.... be the exception to this trend I have seen.

NOS!!! NONONO.... Good idea for drag, bad for engine.

hum... from your list doesn't seem like budget to me.... hahaha... as someone pointed out before, reliability mods first. Then, and ONLY THEN, worry about pumping it up. Cuz a car does you no good sitting in the driveway.

Reliability mods...
Cooling system: radiator (I have the fluidyne, but I heard KOYO and the competition ones are pretty good too. But be careful and be aware of the concequences for adding the radiator]), fans, intercooler (I have the Greddy just because the previous owner had it and didn't need it anymore.)
Exhaust: take out all the damn cats and put in highflow with Greddy Power Extreme. (I think this is one of the largest you can go to. Ain't that loud either.. well, from inside the cockpit! But make sure you pass emissions and inspection first!)

Other benificial mods
Computer: Anything other than stock...I mean, it's a great ECU, but the Aftermarket ones offer just a tad bit more control. I have the PFC and it runs great.
Gauges: A/F Gauge, Boost Gauge (gives you general idea what's happening so you don't detonate your engine by accident should you push more than stock boost)
MISC: BOV to make her "sound" good, since you want it "TIGHT...", RIMS and tires, suspension system.

If you need some of these parts, I have some sites for you that sells em for a decent price.
