MSD 6A, 6AL, and 2 step question

MSD 6A, 6AL, and 2 step question

If i want to run a two step setup on my rx7 an plan on getting msd 6a's or 6al's all the way around, do they all havae to be 6al's or just the leading or trailing?

I Would run 6AL's on the lead only and 6A's on the trail (or stay with the stock ignition on the trailfor that matter ) , I would also set it up for the trails to switch off when the 2 step is engaged , there is a thread about it some where , do a search .

You only need one 6AL box (On leading), one 2 step box, 3 relays and some wire.

the msd ingition doesn't dual spark after 3k rpms....so off the line you get more torque withe the msd.


but a fellow PP13b GT class road racer says mallory coils runs a whole lot better for the higher rpms......so in turn we run the mallory coils on my ITA rx3.....no complaints
