mikuni jetting HELP !

I have a 12a with a streetport and a mikuni 44 sidedraft. And I need some help getting the jetting right, I did a search and read all th einfo I could and swaped some jets with no luck getting it close.

Here is what was in it

200 main air
150 main fuel
40 pump
57.5 idle/primary ?

I saw the recomended was

240
200
90
62.5

with the second combo the throttle responce was better and it seemed meaner but it was wayyyyyyy rich still and there was no adjusting the carb by the needles, made no difference all the way in or out.

let me make sure I have this right, please someone straighten me out if I am wrong.

on the main jets the one on the top is main fuel or main air ? I would think its main air but I was told by someone else that the top was main fuel?

Help me out I need to get the jetting at least in the range where it isnt blowing so much fuel that it is belching it out the tail...choke me smoke !

I'm going to be getting a dual Mikuni PHH setup (unsure of size yet) and will also need this type of info. If I find out anything, I'll post here about it! Looking at getting the Mikuni PHH manual sometime soon too. Usually pop up on eBay quite often.
