Methanol water injection on N/A

I read up on water methanol injection, and from what I found they will still increase performance on an N/A engine. I have a 88 vert that I bought a kit for. However, I was just talking to the guy at my local rotary shop, and he said I was wasting my time since my Rx7 isn't turbo.

You certainly wont need the extra knock-resistance of water meth, e85 or even premium on an n/a rotary. Is possible you might get a bit of steam-effect? cooler combustion and clean all the carbon off?
I doubt its worth it but you could give it a go... nitrous would give you a giddy up, and be the better add on, or just breathing mods and a tune unless you already have.

Well damn lol...guess I'll return the kit. That's $400 I could use towards something else for the car.

Breathing mods - could you elaborate?

Im sure there would be plenty info in the 2nd gen section. Sorry i cant be of much help being unfamiliar with those, but N/A rotaries in general usually benefit quite a lot from stock with exhaust, carby/intake upgrade and timing advance.
