Machining my rotors
Will any experience machine shop be hable to expand .5mm out of each side of the apex seal canals? (not shure if using the right term) to accept 3mm apex seals?? (i'm not traying to start a debate 3mm vs 2mm thread i'v done my research) I know this guy with over 15 years of experience and i'm well aware of his skills, i just want to know if any special procedure is needed to machining my rotors that will require me to send them to and experience shop.

Should not be a problem. Most important thing is to make it clear what is critical and be specific. If you tell him to make a 3mm slot he will do just that, and if your apex seal is exactly 3mm dont be shocked when the seal does not move freely. Your best bet is to give him an old 2mm apex seal and tell him you want to duplicate the clearances for the larger seal, maybe a little tighter to compensate for the wear on the 2mm. Knowing the application, or better yet seeing/feeling the application makes a world of difference. Hope that helps.

You'll need to give him a 3mm seal and tell him to machine the groove for the seal with the tolerance aswell. I think it is 4thou to 6thou. Cant remember off the top of my head.
I done mine to 4thou. Its the setting up that takes the time, he'll have to make sure the rotor is square in the vice otherwise the seal will stick on the coner seals if they arnt machined square. I got mine within 1thou and it took ages to get right and since he'll have not done one before he'll not have a jig.
