looking for times of DAILY DRIVEN rx7's
I have an 88 TII with 78k miles. Went to Jackson SC last night. Here's my times:
Temp in the 40's, 3/4 tank with me in it weighs about 3100lbs. Don't know Alt. 225/45-16 Kumho Supra 712
--------------Run 3----Run 4----Run 5----Run 6
-----R/T-----.863-----.557------.623------.493
------60'----2.376----2.350----2.421----2.373
-----330'----6.484---6.545----6.601----6.592
--1/8 ET----9.867----9.921----9.965----9.968
1/8 MPH----73.60---72.77----73.04----72.83
--1/4 ET----15.285--15.297--15.345--15.358
1/4 MPH----80.07---81.42----81.42----81.33
My first run I tried to drop the clutch but the revs were too low(3200). Didn't want to try again at higher RPM for fear of breaking something so I just slipped it at 3500...Missed 2nd. 3rd run, tried 4000 RPM slip, pulled hard, clutch got real hot and slipped almost all of 2nd..but it was my fastest time. Run 4-6 were all the same...3500 RPM slip and hit 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears perfectly.
Maybe I could have taken a tenth or two off by staying in third to the finish.
I just don't understand why I'm soo slow. Aren't the TII's supposed to go 14.4 or something.
At least I'm consistent.
All stock-->no mods of any kind.

12.7@113 at 13psi. After the BNR stage 2 top secrets and a midpipe, who knows. The R1 will still be basically a daily driver, but I've gotta drive the lil crx sometime

I've only been 1 time. Best was a 15.4 @ 94mph totally stock. The speed is about right, time is total crap. fstrnyou: How are you MPHs so low compared to your times? I think the "8x" is suppose to be "9x."

I've heard of "daily driven" RX-7s as low as mid-10s (by daily driven i mean it's their main car they use for everything, going to work, groceries, cruising, whatever)
I've heard of street legal driven RX-7s as low as low 9's, but I suspect these are "weekend only" cars which rarely get driven other than for a pleasure cruise. Definitely not the main car.

I think Steve means street trim.
"Do a quater mile pass" then drive down a dirt road
fill up @ a gas station (not pumping C16) and then go pass your yearly vehicle inspection on the way home from the strip (ie no slicks, dumped exhaust etc) ! Then after that, pack the car up and go driving for say a couple of days (touring).
That would be a daily driven car in my book
There are very few fast street trim RX7's that can do ALL these things.

Rice - Thats right, street trim! And I will be trying to better that 11.8 soon! You better come up and crack into the 11s with me!!
I get 400kms+ on a tank of petrol, and thats giving it a bit :p
I'm sure I could get 500kms to a tank if I tried!

Yes, I totally agree with you Rice Racing about what a street trim car really is.
I don't think anyone can get more than pretty high 10's with this type of street driven RX-7 as you describe. With a 20B installed however, that number might drop a bit while maintaining. the same streetability.

AJC13b, I have to say, I got far better gas mileage with the haltech running my car than the stock ecu, even though I have roughly doubled the stock power output, my cruise gas mileage was around 30+ mpg, with the stock ecu it was around 20-22...Max
Hehehe...thanks guys
Power FC registered 1.08kg/cm2 peak but it was actually 16.5psi on boost gauge easily....
It was simply a good cold day with good traction....... 1.76-1.80 60ft's.
Going back on slicks and 17.5psi(max for oem map sensor) and see what it will do....
11.1@122MPH Me
I used to drive the car everyday, about 60miles a day. Work was about 30miles each way, even drove it in the snow. That was last year before all the mishaps took place.
10.2@137mph
Tony from T and R drives his 3rd gen daily, all the time. He drives it to and from his shop. He also drives it to all the events, races, and then drives home. I think that is a daily driver.
I think that PFS has a red 3rd gen that runs 9s and is daily driven. Looks so stock under the hood.
John D, lotta props to you guy!!!
