Just got my first 3rd Gen

So im a noob for rx7's. thsi thing is bad but i have a couple of quick questions to start. First it has 19X10 rims and it rubs pretty bad when you get on it. what are the max rim sizes that i can run and not have any rubbing problems and second it has 118000 on the body but supposedly only 10,000 or so on a replaced motor. it is a little difficult to start when cold and ven when it is warm dosent really fire right off. is that a characteristis of rotories or is it tired? oh yeah the other day i statred it and it had a pretty good amount of white smoke till it got warm. some other times you can slightly smell some exhaust. well i guess that will do it for now. let me know what you guys think.

welcome fellow noob. is the smoke white or a little blue, if its a little blue its normal an just burning a little oil, like they do. if it smells like coolant, you might have a leak. I have 17's on mine an makes a horrible sound when i turn, just from the back, don't know if its a broken piece back there or rubbing the fender, cause they're all rolled. Do you have any suspension mods? I'm sure 19's are ok, unless you have it slammed

congrats on the new car. i have no idea about the wheel size question, but if you search a little you're likely to find it. there's a whole section of the board dedicated to wheel/tire issues. worse comes to worst, then check in the Gen III section.

as for your starting problems, i'd suggest a few things. have the compression checked first. next make sure your ignition system is fresh (plugs, wires) and that your battery, alternator and ground(s) are good. lastly check your cooling system for signs of combusiton products. report your results when you're done.

Congrats, the car is beautiful. Call Ray at Malloy Mazda and order a r1 front lip, it will make all the difference in the world.

On the hot starting it sounds like the compression is probably getting a little low. Have it checked but as long as you can get the car started while it is hot then I wouldnt let it bother you too bad at the moment. Im assuming the smoke you are seeing is condensation with the temps we have been dealing with lately. Also with coolant temps this low on start up the car will run rich on cold starts so expect a little fuel smell.
