I've got a problem with my bottle of nitrous

I picked up a bottle used, and it seems good except that the shut off valve is really stuck in the closed position. How should I open this baby up? the cheap plastic **** broke cause it's so tight. I don't really want to use vice grips cause' the valve stem is brass and really soft... I'm not exactly sure how to go about opening the valve without ripping the hell out of it.

Any suggestions?
thanks!

You will probably have to use vise grips and use the bottle up. Then take the empty bottle and get a new valve for it when you get it filled. It will probably set you back $15.
The only other suggestion would be to be careful not to accidentally break the valve off while it is full.... unless it's pharmecitical grade nitrous and you want one helluva "buzz". First you will get the hell knocked out of you by a flying valve and next thing you know you really don't give a ****!
