Okay so you bought a motor, and had "The Works" done on it, and don't know what it bought you ??

Polishing gains you nothing but a pretty engine bay, with shiny things in it.

Ported, can be Street Porting (Can Be Smog Legal or not)
1/2 Bridge, Full Bridge, or Periphreal Ports. and all of that refers to the intake ports, and usually means the exhaust is enlarged as well. Without going into a lot of detail, if you get more air into a motor, you can extract more power, the amount is determined by a multitude of factors, among them turbine (turbo) efficiency / size, Fuel Injectory Size, spark etc...

For some street ports you can extract as much as 75-100 hp on the same turbo, but again it's all dependat on your turbo, and when you get power, and where a port helps, port design etc...

Like already mentioned, it could mean several different things. It's likely that your engine is receiving a basic "street-port" which means that the intake and exhaust ports have been enlarged and shaped to maximize and increase intake and exhaust flow. Polishing however means nothing relevant, because no-one would port a motor without smoothing out the ports.

Streetports are good for what, a 10-15% power increase in the upper-RPM's? The difference is really felt above 5k+ RPM's with a street-port, from my experience.

Polishing isn't really even effective for power production. Fuel is less likely to stick to the wall of a rough port.

it all depends on who is doing the porting and what size porting he is doing. Other things that matter include the size of the turbo and the amount of boost you are going to be running.
