Housings Question
Alright need some help here hopefully its easy to follow along with.
I have a -
good front S4 Turbo2 Housing
good front FD Housing
good s5 turbo2 front, intermediate, rear plates
2 good s5 turbo2 rotors
good s5 turbo2 E-shaft
full s5 turbo2 rebuild kit apex seals, side seals, corner bla bla bla
Can i turn this into a motor for my s5 t2? I'm trying to build a backup motor and have a whole s5 t2 motor, except the housings. I was hoping I could use the front s4 t2 and front FD housing without problems, i'd have them ported to the same size exhaust port.
Also, I *MIGHT* have a good rear FD housing, could i use the 2 FD housings with all the S5 T2 stuff and be fine?
thanks,
Kevin.

Don't use the S4 housing with the Fd housing. The trailing spark plug locations are different. You would have timing issues if you used both. Use the other Fd housing if possible or find a S5 turbo housing (timing wise is same as Fd) and sell the S4 version.
Also make sure you have both front and rear counter weights for the S5 rotors.

well it used to be a whole s5 turbo block, then "someone" lost my s5 t2 housings, so im sure i have the counterweights, never noticed them before but like i said, i had the whole block. never even had anyone mention them before, now im puzzled as to what they are lol.
but anyway, so if i have both fd housings itll work? ok i think the rear one in the motor looked ok so we'll wait until it gets torn down.
thanks!

IF you use FD or s5 NA rotorhousings in a turbo block, you lack the coolant passage on the rear rotorhousing at the LIM for the stock turbo water supply. You can either draw water from somewhere else, or have the rear housing machined for the o-ring bevel at the LIM.

the car this motor would be built for is running an oil cooled t78 so that would skip that problem.
so basically if i have both fd housings i should be ok, and i guess i can just sell these s4 t2 parts i have laying all over from my other other motor.
