Help me fix my A/F gauge

Ok I have an Autometer A/F gauge and it doesnt work. I was told it could possibly be the o2 sensor for the gauge. If so how do I get one and where does it go so I can fix it. I know alot of people say that the A/F gauges are useless but I have it so it might as well work.

Thanks

BTW it has 3 wires from the back of the gauge. One is power and I dont know where the other two go and I havent found any kind of diagram on it.

Also is it supposed to be lighted or something because at night its completely dark, but I have noticed the lowest red light slightly illuminated sometimes.

The purple one goes to the O2 sensor.

Red = power (switched)
Black = ground
Purple = signal frob o2 sensor.

No lights because LED's in the face of the gauge are used to indicate whats going on .!!

If it stays down in the red then the signal is reading 0 volts , which means you are running lean, the sensor isnt warmed up yet or it isn't working . If it goes over to the other green side then its reading max @ 1 volt , which means that you're too rich , either the sensor isnt't hooked up or its bad.

How in the world did you hook it up if you have no idea were the O2 sensor is located????

The O2 is located on the exhaust manifold. Its a good idea to just go ahead and replece it. its cheap from AutoZone or Advance.

Try to get a SINGLE wire sensor , it will make life a whole lot easier for you , when you get it just connect the purple wire to the ensors wire.
