Some people have different opinions on this subject. I say then when you start to push around 550whp then its time to go ahead with that mod. On the FC Turbo engine I would start around 450Hp. The dowl area on the FD motor is stronger than the 13BT. If you compare the 13BREW (93-95) to the 13BT (87-91) Then you will notice about 1/4" more thickness in the dowl area than the FD motor. At the same time alot of people are pushing 550rwhp + without the mod. If you are like me then you like to have the most protection from problems that could occur and if you are building a higher HP motor (550+) then you would go with this mod if it is convienent.
