gsl-se trans bolt up?

so here is the story. i bought an old datsun truck with a gsl se motor and what the guy says is the t2 turbo trans (shot to all hell and back). but the guy i bought it off of is full of **** and from what i can tell had no idea what he was talking about. im pretty much new to rotaries in general myself but even i knew he was full of it and find it hard to believe anything he said. all i know is that its not the twin turbo tranny since i have an fd and recently change the tranny out it.

anyway, i was wondering what transmissions will bolt right up to the old 13b gsl-se motors? from what i have gathered it seems that any transmission from the first gens will bolt up to include the 12a.

any help to clear up this confusion would help alot and please be as specific as possible.

thanks in advance.

any tranny that came behind a rotary will bolt to it - regardless of model or year.

On top of what diabolical1 said almost any RWD mazda transmission from 83-93 will bolt in as long as you have the bell housing, the little feet that go on the shifter forks, and the tail housing for your rotary to swap onto it. My last B2200 pickup truck had a 1st gen RX-7 tranny in it and I'm putting a Miata transmission in my current truck in 2 weeks.

I have a write up on my website that I need to update with some additional info but it is not hard to do, all you would need is the parts, 10mm, 12mm sockets, snap and c-ring pliars, a small punch, and hammer.

Edit: I also have a S5 tranny ready to bolt into my S4 car that I've swapped the tail housings on so I won't have to modify the mounts to put it in :-D

TII trannies require a different flywheel, starter, clutch, and clutch slave. A TII flywheel is not properly counterweighted for the -SE rotors. The site below has some pics to show differences between TII and NA trannies.

Yep, same goes with swapping in a B2600i transmission, it is made like the TII but geared lower, would work great on a drag race car. Of coarse the ouput shaft splines on the TII and B2600i transmissions are different so the driveshaft would also need swapping or modification.
