First time at the track - all wheel hop
Just took my first trip to the drag strip. I couldn't get traction at all! I had to launch at 2000 rpms or else I would get major wheel hop. The track seemed pretty messy at the launch point and I was running at normal tire pressure and 10 pounds of boost.
Here are my times:
Reaction: 0.952
60 ft: 2.120
330 ft: 5.898
1/8 mile ET: 8.961
1/8 mile MPH: 81.65
1000 ft ET: 11.500
1/4 mile ET: 13.687
1/4 mile MPH: 103.45
Obviously, I need to work on my reacton time. Would reducing tire pressure help prevent wheel hop or do I need to go all out and get a launch kit for my rear suspension?

Simple resolution is not to stay in it.
The cars will wheel hop naturally, but after you lunch, let off then get back on it. This will improve your ET, as well as saving your car.

I have had good luck with Nitto's, but some people say BFG's are better.
Regardless, get a good pair of drag radials and that will help you a bunch!
Also, I am running stock springs on the rear. VERY soft! When I launch, my car "hunkers" down in the back allowing for excellent traction.
One word of caution! I broke my front differential mount because of hard launches. I don't know if 3rd. gens. have that problem, but I ended up welding mine so it won't break again.
