Custom exhaust pipeing??

I am making custom true duals off of my rb road race hgeader, and I was wondering if I could use any pipe that I want. I saw the pipes on racingbeat.com, but I think I can get piping locally. do you think if I get pretty much any pipe I want, how thick would it need to be?? I think my dad can get me some 2.5 and 3/8 thick??

i personally wouldnt use anything larger than the header pipes you got from RB. dual 2.5'' pipes is WAY more then you need, plus i doubt that will fit under the car.

Around 2mm, any more would give you a good safety margin as well. So probably 4mm would be good idea.

True dual?

Now that's just given me another idea for my 12a powered trike!!! And it's Sooooo much easier to just do two seperate pipes, than it is to make two pipes EXACTLY the same length (for a tuned exhaust) and have them run alongside each other - because I don't have access to a mandrel bender, only pre-bent pipes

yeah, it's perfect , and pretty cheap to a point. if ya buy the pipes from racing beat-15$ for 4 foot. and then get someone to weld it all up for you, or you weld it

I can get all the pre-bent corners and straight bits for around £100, and the back-boxes I'm using cost another £100 each.

A total of £300-ish

Powerflow wanted almost £700 to do exactly the same thing!!

I'm having to route the exhausts round the front of the engine (it's facing the other way round from normal remeber) so I'm having to use two 90 degree turns to keep it close to the car,yet still keep the length at 39" per pipe
