corner seal springs

corner seal springs

whats the advantage of FD corner seal springs as compared to FC?

They last longer before they flatten out and the tension is higher to start with. Thats why you NEVER use them on an early motor with soft side housings. Can you say accelerated wear

why do rebuilders offer them as an option?

Well, I guess I'll find out if THIS is true or not. I've read about them being used in early engines, and I'm putting them, along with new corner seals in the '74 streetported 13b engine I'm building for my 3. It originally had the "wire" type spring.
