Clutch Decision

So I tried to go the cheap route on clutches with my 13B-PP engine. Well to say the least it hasn't worked out. I figure that the engine is making 250-300 crank horse with fidanza 8lbs flywheel. The engine and car were built on a budget or getting parts cheap. Well i have gone through two stock replacement clutches that only cost $80 each.

What is happening is that while doing my burn out the springs that hold the friction surface to the pressure plate are bending and causing the clutch to vibrate and lose its clamping pressure.

I'm going to buy a real clutch now cause I'm sick of pulling the tranny. I'm looking at two different ACT clutches right now. The ZX2-XTSS or the ZX2-XTG6. Heres the link http://www.advancedclutch.com/produc...d_id=2882#2882

What I'm wondering is any of you out there have tried either clutch. The car doesn't get much street driving, most of its time is spent driving to the race track (8 miles away) drag racing then driving home.

To give you an idea of what's in the car to aid my decision, heres the list. 13B Peripheral Port, weber 48 IDA's, fidanza flywheel, S4 transmission, GSL-SE rear end, 4.44 gears, and BF Goodrich drag radials.

i have the ZX2-XTG6.. i haven't used it on the track but it is an awesome clutch so far and i highly recommend it for aggresive driving and streetability. since you will be on the track most of the time, the other clutch would probably be better for you. either way, ACT is the way to go next to the Exedy twin plate
