Can someone help with an S-AFC problem?? PLEASE??
OK, WTF?!.... I just put in the S-AFC this weekend... I soldered all the connections.... all per the manual... the 2 ground wires 1cm apart.... RPM hooked to the trailing coil.. (readout is exact).. My settings are 4 cyl, 6in6out, flapper, throttle up, lo-40% hi 80%, All that crap... anyways, I started it up with 0%.. and it died immediately!! It runs OK now, but I have ito have it leaned out by -20% to -40%!!! Hi throttle has to be at -20% or else I can't accelerate... It kindof running "not well" either..... Oh, I have stock injectors, and fuel pump right now....
Anyone have any ideas??? The car was running fine before this... a tad rich, but OK....
I compared the voltage between the AFM in, and out wires at 0% to see, and they were the same, so that seems fine... Why??
I unplugged the harness, and jumpered the yellow wire to the white wire (AFM input, output)- bypassing the AFC) just to check, and the car ran fine... so I didn't mess up the ECU or the wires...

Ya, it's hooked up.. closed loop works, and I keep a voltmeter on the passanger seat hooked up to it.
You are talking about hooked up to the ECU right? I wasn't aware that it had anything to do with the AFC...

It's refered to as the Air Flow Signal in the manual. I believe it's the yellow and white wire that have to be hooked up on the same ECU wire in the harness.
Your problem sounds identical to a problem I had with mine when I had it.
