Right now I am using a Series 5 wastegate.
The problem with these hybrids at 15+ PSI, is they generate lot's of heat! My intake temps will be OK for one run. The next run, they climb to 120+ degrees!! I am going to get a water injection system to remedy this, then eventually buy a bigger turbo. Right now with my hybrid, @ 16 PSI, I am right around 350 RWHP. |
I would like to see a hydrogen powered turbo wankel!
Hydrogen cars produce water out the exhaust. So kick up the boost enough and you should be able to get a pretty good "rooster tail"! |

hell yes i port the wastegate!

i know it would be better to have a fmic but how much hp would i get with a 60-1 hybrid. I know id need bigger injectors???

I can't see a hybrid doing more than 350hp to the wheels.  If you can make this kinda power, it's mid 11's down the 1/4-mile.  The stock center (i.e. carbon seal) sux for big boost, in my experience - others will argue otherwise.  I'm tired of rebuilding those crappy carbon seals myself.

The "crappy carbon seals" are replaced with a dynamic seal when upgrading to a t04 compressor housing/wheel/backplate usually, if they dont, there dumb. But, I see big boost #'s just heating the hell out of a engine with those tiny exhaust turbines and housings.
|
they do upgrade with dynamic seal as well as 360 degree thrust brg. for longer turbo life at higher boost levels, the problem is they will not put these options unless you specifically ask for them, thats wht alot of hybrids fail prematurly... as for too much heat on the exhaust side, as with any turbo application, more heat= more energy, more energy= more power....there is more heat sooner , but you have instant boost wich almost everybody wants. TURBO LAG LOOSES RACES period!besides you can always take heat out on the compressor side with a good intercooler.

I talked to someone in South Florida that does Turbos
Said he can make my stock S4 Turbo "almost" into a FULL TO4E The only stock part used is the Rear Turbine Housing Which he machines for P,O,Q trim So it uses a TO4 Bearing Housing with Dynamic seal and 360' degree thrust bearing Recommends I weld a external wastegate flange on the Manifold with this upgrade I have a Deltagate laying around My question is if the Stock S4 turbine Housing is 1.0 and a Full blown To4 with a rear A/R of 1.0 make the same HP? |

I have to re-confirm but VERY good price for a stage III Upgrade
Will also match port the Inlet runners of the Turbine I 'm going to ask him What a Stage 4 comes with and how much extra( I think a stage 4 is a 60-1 wheel) I'll PM you |
|
I have he only does TOB's- I'm led to believe TO4E's have a better compressor Map
