Can a Hybrid make 375rwhp?

I was just wondering if there was a certain hybrid I could get that would make close to 400rwhp. I have been searching but didn't really find out. Now of course I mean with the proper fuel, fmic, and boost control, etc. Just wondering if it could happen and be 15psi or under. Thanks.

A lot of full upgrade turbos have trouble making that much power under 15psi!

I realize its asking for alot. Heres a better question I guess...can a hybrid get me in the mid 12s in the 1/4? I don't really want to go over 15psi. If not whats the best I can hope for. Thanks alot.

Witch hybrid? Are you meaning like a toyota prius, insight, civic? or that Acura hybrid they have had in car mags the one with electric motors driving all the wheels for acceleration and a high-eficantcy (can't spell) NSX engine to drive the rear wheels and for power generation.

Alien Hybrids surely??
I can vouch for a hybrid on a s4 that makes 270 to the wheels using an s5 turbo with to4b 60-1 wheel. I would think anything more than that is limited by the exhaust back pressure. With that hybrid it makes boost almost all the time, which takes a toll on gas mileage for sure, but ensures real good throttle response.
I prefer a full turbo upgrade myself..Max

Ya I know that a full upgrade is alot better but I was just wondering if the stock turbo(hybrid) could get me in the mid 12s really. I will eventually get a whole new turbo.

Actually, I know a guy who's running a hybrid and just ran a 12.4. 88 TII. He's in the northwest section and i think his name is sylvias13drift or something like that. It might be a t3/t4 hybrid.

anything is possible.......

it is possible to make upto around 500 flywheel HP with a 60-1 compressor wheel on a hybrid but you have to blow well into race gas pressures to make it. around 25-28psi might see you in the ball park, on the other hand you could run those pressures with a full bigger turbo and see an extra 200HP+ for your troubles

I know which route i'd take it and certainly isn't the hybrid one

I ran a 12.8 @ 108 MPH on a hybrid turbo. It's a little bigger than a stock turbo.
I think With a intercooler C02 sprayer, I can get it down to the low 12's.
Here it is next to a stock turbo.

Well you could buy a set of used non sequential 3rd gen twins for $300 and run low 12's or MAYBE high 11's at 15psi of boost.

Well, I guess you'd need to buy a Y pipe as well but they can be had pretty cheap....hell you can get a new one for like $200

I have ran as fast as 11.9 @ 116mph on a T04E .60 Hybrid. This was done with 18 psi and pump gas. I ran at least 20 12.0's to 12.2's with that turbo. I have also ran 12.3 @ 111mph on the stock turbo with just a larger compressor wheel. My friend Scott just ran a 12.54 @ 108mph on the same turbo in his car. Slicks and fast 60's are the key.

I never dynoed that setup. The stock turbo had just been bored out and fitted with a larger compressor wheel. This was in 1999 and my setup then consisted of a stock 91 13BT, stock intercooler, HKS F-Con, Walbro fuel pump, stock injectors, 3" downpipe, 2 1/2" midpipe, Dynomax catback with about 16 psi of boost.

Man, I'm getting a little happier. I have some money to play with and am looking to add the GReddy fmic, 720cc secondaries, s-afc, catback, custom TID along with everything I already have. So at 15# you think I could break into the 12s?(just looking for possibility, not anything definite) Thanks.

Before I got this T60-1 I had a T04B (HYBRID) w/ Super-V compressor and I dyno'd 333rwhp @ 15psi and that was with a G-Force chip and stock IC.....I ran a 12.0 @ 116mph...... The guy I sold the turbo and chip to ran an 11.80 using the same setup....amazing huh?

My T60-1 is waaaaaay stronger than the T04B....of course I have a WOlf EMS running the show too, and 1680's

So you only need like 280rwhp to get into the 12s or what?

I don't know the exact specs on that turbo. I bought it from a friend and the company that sold it is now defunct.
I think I am right around 280 RWHP. Maybe if I tune my Haltech, I could get closer to 300 HP out of it.
Am looking at a Motec Lambda to tune it with.

Hey Rxtasy1,
This should help you figure your RWHP out a little better. As I said my friend Scott ran a 12.55@108mph on slicks the other day. This was a week after he dynoed at 280rwhp. I am thinking that is right around what you are running.

i sell hybrid turbos that you are talking about...if you send me a core turbo it costs around $700.00 to get all the fancy upgrades turbonetics offers , 1 year warranty included... the only complaint i have had was the boost comes on too fast= poor fuel ecconomy... i have personally seen 350 whp on the dyno @ 16 psi....on pump gas, anything more boost wise on pump gas is suicide , i have seen it personally!
