Calder[Aus] drag times

Just an update on the rotors from SE Australia

30th Nov,
The Calder Park Off-Street drags gave spectators a chance to see some of Melbourne's fastest cars on show. Many racers ran PB's and some may have gone even quicker, unfortunately rain came.

Grant Williams' RX7 ran an off the trailor 7.98 at 169mph and looked very strong.

Paul Murray's RX3 Coupe smashed his own un-tubbed (26x8.5 inch tyre) record and is on the verge of an 8 second pass, he ran a stunning 9.02 at 159mph! As far we know, the current world record is 8.71 at 157mph by another RX3 in Puerto Rico. Paul has already out done this car's terminal speed.

Paul Pfieffers RX3 coupe, driven by Chris Dalton also ran a PB of 9.16 at 149mph.

Phil Aremenko's untubbed S1 RX7 ran a best yet 148mph.

What times are being run in the States by similar car's?, ie untubbed old school etc.

There's also another RX-3 blue in color from Cali. that ran high 8's that's also untubbed. Adam Saruwatari's(A&L RACING) FD ran 8.90@149mph with the factory IRS.
My personal best is a 9.20@150mph with my untubbed FC!

what sized tyre would be under the back of Saruwatari's RX7?

Thats pretty quick! It's all old school here, for the untubbed

There will be 3 new S6 RX7's debut soon, all aimed for 7's

Here's some links

We don't have a recognised efi turbo rotor or 4 cyl class... That 7 sec RX7 pictured above has to run mechanical injection to race in a proper class.

They are running mickey thompson 26 X 10.5 tires. I would say that mid 8s are the limit for those tures but is probably unsafe.
