well here is the dealio. i am doing my burnouts in the box in 2nd gear and roasting them for a good 15-20 seconds, i am using nittos 555r's my buddy tells me i need to come out of the box in at least 3rd gear maybe 4th. what do you guys do? do you shift in the box? is it better to come out at a higher speed? just curious is all.

I can smoke the hell out of my 555's in 1st gear. I spin them up to about 7Krpm and feather the gas back and forth between 5.5K and 7K rpms....I also inch the car forward some so that my tires are not in the water. If your tires are in the water you'll have to burn all that water up before your tires smoke. Id just get them wet pull up a foot or two and let in rip in first gear. Smoke the tires till you can see smoke at your side window

Your probably staying in the water which makes it harder to heat the tires.

Oh yea, I usually pull my ABS fuse thats under the hood so it will sit still and not keep moving forward.

But then again I'm not running 550RWHP so maybe its different for you guys!!!!!!
