Bridgestone RE730s
Has anyone noticed that Bridgestone RE730s hook up almost as well as slicks when hot? Yesterday, I had done some tuning and wanted to check out the upper rpm HP. Rather than changing tires, I left on the street tires -225/50-16- and went to my local deserted two lane. I dropped the clutch at 3500 rpm and expected the usual wheel spin, but the boost kicked in sooner than expected and really smoked the 730s for about a second, then, they bit, like a friggin aircraft carrier catapult. I never intentionally burned out with street tires, since what's the point? If you're going for maximum traction you use slicks. Anyone else ever try this with RE730s?
