best place for BOV

you will hear people give solid reasons for close to the tb and close to the turbo(before the intercooler) some race cars dont even run bovs space, preference ease of install. as long as it does not surge it will be ok.

I was thinking about buying the greddy elbow with the BOV mounted there, but I like the idea of using it as a Diverter Valve (sp?) to help with the spooling of the turbos. But I imagine this isn't entriely necessary.
Also how high can you boost with the stock BOV?
Also if adding an aftermarket one what should be doen with thte stock one? Left there, blocked off?

I have my greddy BOV located on the left side adjacent to the battery. It's actually sideways with the purple top pointing towards the left headlight. right side if you're standing infront of it. With the BOV on the greddy FMIC piping it actually lays just above the (smaller battery). I currently am using a miata battery. It fits well. If you need to take out the battery all you have to do is unscrew the rubber hoses and pull off the piping. They say welding the BOV sideways may cause the weld to crack from heat, but that isn't happening and even if it did. You'd just have to re-weld it slightly. It looks pretty wicked where it is and it sounds great and works great. your other option would be on the same piping (the piping just below the greddy elbow that connects to the throttle body- by the battery) but have it upsidedown or hidden. to the left to the battery and the right of the alternator (looking right at it). They say this reduces the chance of cracking and add's a more sleeper look. But it's an RX-7... so I don't know what good a sleeper BOV with an FMIC would do. Once again, a good weld job done sideways would be my way to go.

I don't know if the post updated or if most people know this, but the adjustable screw on BOV's or the greddy Type S BOV I have does not change the amount of boost released. All adjusting that screw does is change the sound of the pressure being released. I love how the Type S sounds. but unscrew it too far and it'll start to sound like your brakes are squeeling. Correct me if im wrong about the lack of boost pressure change.
