The Best Custom Exhaust?

Alright, so some guy close to me wants to trade me my 17" rims for a complete custom exhaust job on the '87 TII...It grabbed my interest (the rims are being sold for $450 anyways). What is the best setup (piping, etc) for an '87 TII? He said he'll probably eliminate the two cats closest to the exhaust and just do a nice one from the DP. Any ideas would be GREATLY appreicated. Thanks ahead guys!

It DEFINITELY must be mandrel bent piping. Full 3" single system. Elminate cats, remove air pump system

No less than 3" since you are turbo.
More if you plan some SERIOUS modifications in the near future.

Anyone else have something to add I'm forgetting?

I think exactly what he said unless of course you want dual mufflers to ring the $$ out of him. Then make a Y pipe somewhere and make it dual 3" all the way back from there. Of course kinda staying with where the stock system Y's off. I think 3" will do you for a while unless you're planning a serious turbo. But any bigger than that for now might hurt performance. Also be careful because alot of exhaust shops can't bend 3" pipe, make sure he's using one that can before you agree to the trade.

Ok.. since I found this topic, I'll ask here.

I will probably be replacing the exhaust on my NA S4 soon. I was originally going to go with an HKS dual setup carback, but seeing as how that's 900 bucks, I won't be getting it anytime soon. Plus, I don't want those huge canisters anymore. Now, I just want one. Sooooo. I was thinking 2.5" with an APEXi N1 series muffler exiting the drivers side. Would removing the cats be wise, or should I replace them with better flowing ones?
