Best 13B for me to get

I am looking to do a 13B swap to my FB which will be streetported and turbocharged. I would like to know the advantages and disadvantages of the different 13B's out there and which one you think would be best, keeping in mind I cant spend a huge amount of money on the engine. Things on my mind: does the 84-85 SE engine have any disadvantage to the FC engine? What are the differences in the different series? i am probably going to get a gslse or FC engine to save money so tell me about these 13B's. thanks.

If you are going to port the 13B, then you should stick to the 4-port engines (13BT and 13B-REW). See the porting links at the bottom of this web page:

The disadvantage of the GSL-SE 13B engine vs. the 13BT FC engine... no turbo, lol.

I think your "cheapest" option is to get a J-Spec 13BT (approx. $1,000) and run it with a Microtech LTX8 EMS (approx. $1,000).

What kind of carburetor and manifold do you have? That will determine which engine you need.

SE as in FC? Or SE as is GLS-SE? There's a water seal location difference between 1st and 2nd gen engines. Go with a full TII engine.
