Autometer's A/F Ratio Guage

Just got the A/F Ratio Phantom Gauge with Dual Pod. Whats up with the metal U bracket that came with It? I see 2 threaded rods on the back of the Gauge aswell. I know It fits together but I don't think I'll need It. Is this bracket used If you don't have a Dual Pod?

I guess the rubber band Is used to keep the Gauge snug In place aswell, right?

You dont need the U bracket for the POD - the guage is a friction fit in the hole - the Rubber band is just for packaging - you don't need it either. the U bracket is for mounting to a flat panel.
