Auto trans fluid change 1988 rx7

I'm just about fed up with searching and searching and finding nothing that helps. Where is the dip stick for the auto trans. Where is the drain hole for the auto trans. I want to change the fluid but I can't because I can't find any God damn drain or fill plug. Help. Thanks

I threw my auto in the scrap heap. The dipstick should be on the passenger side near the firewall (IIRC, it is more like a **** you grab instead of a ring you grab with your finger, most likely not nice and yellow colored like new cars). It's also where you fill it (after removing the dipstick, of course). No drain plug man, you have to pull the pan just like old American cars. While you have it off, you can drill a hole and install a drain plug if you want to. They sell the kits at parts stores with instructions for the size of the hole to drill.

To add to this, when draining, sometimes it helps to start with a corner of the trans pan, like the rear left or right side. If you get lucky you can drain it without making a mess. If it were me, id lay something down like a tarp, or just have an oil change place do it.

Thank you so much guys. I appreciate it alot. I'll be looking into the drain plug kit. Is there a filter I could/should change while I have the pan off?

Fox.ca, down load the FSM (Factory Service Manual). It's free.
