Anyone used Racing Beat Header and Intake/Carb setup

Anyone used Racing Beat Header and Intake/Carb setup

I have an 88 FC I bought a used motor from a guy local who told me it was a good motor, it was to replace my blown motor with a Racing beat RR Header and with a RB intake/carb setup with 600cfm Holley carb and also adual exhaust setup... i was wondering has anyone known anyone with this setup if ao should i replace my FI systemon my new/used 1990 RE motor or sell it and tune my engine to this or just get rid of it all and install my dads Z-28 motor and modify the v8 350 motor and all that ish any help is appreciated

welcome.

since you're asking for an opinion, i'll share mine. whether or not you plan to run that RE with a turbo setup, i'd keep the EFI - but i'd do it especially if you plan to keep it turbocharged. go standalone.

The V8 swap will make more power but will ruin your karma. Not emissions legal.

Swapping in the new motor will be pretty easy and the header will give you a big boost in power if you open up the rest of the exhaust too. The header is not emissions legal.

I don't see why you would take off a perfectly good EFI system to replace it with a Holley carb, the only reason to do something like that is if you are bridgeporting, otherwise the only difference you'll see is worse low end drivability and worse gas mileage plus a lot of "fun" tuning it.

The 1990 motor is a little different from the '88 but it's your only choice (other than another S4 motor) if you want to stay emissions legal. The biggest difference is the oil metering pump but other than that you should be able to keep your existing EFI setup although you won't make quite as much power as you would with a 1990 intake.

i'd push for EFI controlled by an aftermarket EMS if i had a bridgey, too. i think it makes life with a bridge much easier.

You might want to check out this web site www.eastcoastparts.com . This guys are friends of mine and they make a 8 injector throttle body that flows 1244 cfm for the jtech and racing beat intake. good luck
