A three rotor has Lots more torque so yes it would suit road aplications more but i have a feeling you wont like the Fuel bill on ether.

mate had a 12a PP in his rx4 sedan. ran really nice. revved to 10k no worries. was very smooth, just loud thats all, and already had 3 mufflers on a 3" exhaust. kept up with turbos no probs

Porbably wasn't a race port PP, though still did the job.

no, it idled at 1800rpm. wasn't really that lumpy. As i said, it was built with drivability in mind. Am full out all race 13b PP will idle around 2500 - 3000rpm and will be a absolute bitch on the road.

I think a reality check is in order here !

I used to run a Full RACE PP that came straight from a car that won a State tiltle !!!

Running a 51mm weber I could get it to idle at 1100 to 1200rpm !

Many of the factory Mazda race engines idled around this range and even in the Factory Mazda Preperation guide they recommend you turn the idle down to around 1000rpm to reduce back firing on a closed throttle or for when shutting of the engine.

Idle at 2500 or 3000 rpm is bullshit ! and is more a sign of very poor carby or incorrect fuel injection configuration or settings, nothing more. Or a car that has a **** ignition system that is not capable of firing cold race plugs and the idle needs to be set this high to stop or prevent fouling.

Set the engine up correctly and you will be suprised

I ran one on the road last year some, right now i am building another one. PP12a in my rx3. My ran allright. My next one is going to be better. the key is livig in a rural area. If you live in CA or other really populated areas it gets a lot harder, but i am able to drive mine at night. Oh and i dont run hardly any noise silencing ****...

The reason why they are not run is they are un economical and they need to be loud to "perform" right if you want to run one on the street and keep it quiet or anywhere near legal you are waisting your time !

And as far as economy goes you will have no such thing when compared to a street port, expect to use almost double the amount of fuel regardless of how you drive.'

These are the reasons why PP's are not meant for the "street", if fuel economy and noise are non issues for you then a PP is great and it can be %100 drivable and idle as good as a big street port.

Basically if you need to muffle it to any great extent then you are waisting your time using this porting principle as a street port or partial bridge will suit your "situation" far better use much less fuel and make just as much if not more power

Race cars use PP's BP's
Street cars use Street Ports

People who disregard the law, Innocent by standers, their bank account (fuel bills) or who are just plain crazy use these on the street
I spent 5 years being crazy, then I grew up

Enzo, It will be louder than a cheap ***** screaming for crack !

It never fails to suprise me just how much loder a BP or PP is for such a small little modification, so far as the turbo shuting it up (especially a BIG one) all it will do is stop your ears from bleeding, you will still need earplugs to stop going deaf

It will never be "quiet" with any system (that can fit under a RX7) over 4" in dia that flows to make power, Large volume truck mufflers come close but it still will be loud

Maybe I am just old but if it needs to be (not ear piercing) in intensity then unfortunatley the extremer ports will be compromised.

Hey it was just a thought...LOL...

Anyhow, how loud will my streetport with 5" exhaust be? it's very quiet right now with 3" and stock turbo.

Can't wait to put the monster in!!!
How's your car coming along?

The ports differ greatly. There are almost as many types of PP engines as there are types of Rotary motors.

Some are ok with driveability, and other arent really at all.
