NHRA legal is one thing, but I would like to see those times at an NHRA event. I give these guys a lot of respect but even more when they do it at a NHRA sanctioned event.
Those starlets are very light and Im sure when they ran their cars on those videos they were as light as can be.

La atrevida came to NJ at a NHRA sport compact event
where Jesus padiilla and DEE runs
and ran consistant low 7.6's
something no else can do in that class(modified) with a 2 rotor
and WON
Let me add
NHRA has taken wieght off for 2 rotors in Modified
last year and for 2006 as well

pr rotaries
to be honest with you guys i could give 2 craps about the nhra. and im sure 99% of the pr racers feel the same way. puerto rico is import/sport compact capital of the world. they have plenty of tracks around puerto rico where they race a few days a week all year round.
99% of these guys invest thousands and sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars to race for the love, for bragging rights. nhra sport compact drag racing will never ever be as intense as it is in the island. unless you've experienced it you'll never know.
i can name you a hand full of guys in the nhra would would not be racing if it wasnt because somebody was giving them a ride.
that doesnt happen in puerto rico.
and just to clarify anais starlet weighs 1,900lbs which is nhra legal.
puerto rico top 100 sport compacts run between 6.81@202mph and 8.99@140mph.
and thats not counting the hundreds maybe even thousands of other imports running 9.00-11.00
not bad for an island thats 100x35 miles

"and just to clarify anais starlet weighs 1,900lbs which is nhra legal."
So what you are saying is the car is illegal, according to page 21 of the nhra rule book a 2 rotor modified car must weigh 2000.
Congrats is still in order even if it is 100lbs too lite 100lbs shouldn't slow it up too much.

Well it all depends if that 1900lbs is the car alone or with the driver. NHRA states that all weights are with the driver in the car so 1900lbs + driver guaranteed to be over 2000lbs unless the guy is under 100lbs. But I personnally don't know the stats on this car so I can't say much. I really don't give a damn a 7.40 out of a 13b impressive all by itself!!! When is Rafaelito going to hit sixes with his 13B powered RX8. When it comes to rotaries that's who I look up to. And what ever happened to his RX7?

puerto rico rotary
1900lbs with driver is very respectable. i remember a few years ago when the fastest rotary powered car was running low 8's with basically the same weights. you can clearly see that they guys are extracting huge amounts of reliable horsepower.
the only thing that worries me, particulately are the rotary powered starlets. these cars have a very short wheelbase. i would really hate to be in one of these in a crash going 180+mph.
i can tell you very confidently that these starlets will very soon run very low 7's.
one thing that these have not introduced are adjustable clutches. adjustable clutches are proven to take off up to .030 of your 1/4 mile time.
imagine these guys in the 7.1's @190+mph. dont imagine, its gonna happen.

It must take a pretty talented driver to drive those. does any one know what the wheel base is on a starlet? I can't imagine trying to keep something that short streight, yet alone a freaken starlet at almost 200mph in like 1320ft. ahahah. amazing, those guys are my heros.

to me all i say is "****" NHRA RULES. I think it is pointless to go by a set of rules that usa made and u live in a whole different place.ALso it is pointless to go by nhra rules because nhra sportcompact is going down hill and i dont see it alive anymore in about 2more years, so to all the racers that spended thousands and thousands of dollars to get their cars nhra spec is just gonna be a huge waste of money when the series is called off and u wont have anywere else to race cause u just went with nhra rules. ok back to subject,."la anais" starlet haves a semmi p-port 13b running on alcohol
