After burner?

so i was watching history channels modern marvels the other day (on helicopters), and they were talking about using turbine engines and after burners. anyway, i know i saw another show, "junkyard wars" when the guys used a turbo to make an afterburner and power the vehicle, on that alone.

not that i would do it.... but i was wondering what would happen if you injected fuel after the turbine and into the downpipe. would there be enough unburned air to combust and create an afterburner effect?

sorry if this is the wrong forum but, i figured i would ask here since you guys are all real smart, and it has something to do with the engine.... by the way, i want to make an autogiro!, those look fun and safe!

Not an efficent way to creat thrust. Jet engines that create thrust are different from those that are used for tq. The tq ones are the ones used in a helo.
