AFR on carburetted engine

I understand Rotaries like to run richer than 14.7:1 for best performance (race track not road). Can anyone comment and advise what AFR's one would expect to see for best drive out of corners and also top end (7 to 8000 rpm) ?

Hi.

There isnt really a fixed AFR at what you should be,we can help with ballpark figures and so ,but it will be dependant on track elevation, fuel used, type of track ,engine porting and some other factors as well.

This is what Hitman used on his mild port Efi 12A for daily driving.

Idle 12.7:1
Cruise 13.8:1
Max Load 12.9:1

This might not be exactlly right for you,but a good point to look at.

12.5:1 for peak HP at WOT.

When dynotuning a carbed rotormotor we tune for the most HP, just keep richening it until it makes more HP. Stop when HP goes down. 12.5:1 is ballpark. Try to find a dyno shop that has rotary experience..
