Added Y pipe now getting 19-20 lbs boost, HELP?

Hi guys here's the deal. Had the car tuned by Cogi at Xs and he did a great job at tuning it. Car runs 17lbs boost with full race fuel. However here is what is happening. I put in an infini Y pipe as per Mark at Tri-Points suggestions. He said it would help with my transitions and it may give me some more power due to it flowing better. Well on the course my car goes to 17lbs. However remember I am only at full throttle for a couple of seconds. When I am out on the street warming up my running gear before a race I am letting off the gas and my boost guage is showing 19-20lbs of boost.

Is it possible that just a Y pipe will flow so much better that it will increase my boost that much? Or is it possible that it would do that anyway under hard throttle for more than a couple of seconds.

For those of you with modded cars that switched to a Y pipe after the mods, please let me know if you encountered additional boost like I have. IF so what did you do? Should I reduce my injectors duty cycle or put on an aftermarket blow off valve to help?

Thanks ahead of time for your help.

Allan
